The Pakistani military attacked an Afghan police outpost in eastern Kunar province on Monday, killing an Afghan soldier, local officials said on Tuesday.
In addition, two other Afghan policemen were injured in the attack.
The attack took place in Do Kalam area in Narai district of the province which borders Pakistan and the Pakistani military forces attacked the outpost and started clashes, Provincial Police Chief Abdul Habib Sayedkhili said.
"The policeman who died in the attack is named Ahmad Shah and the clashes took place late Monday afternoon and continued until the evening," Sayedkhili said.
He said that there is no information about the casualties of the Pakistani military forces.
"Four shops and a small hotel were also torched in the attack," he added.
However, the reason for the attack is not yet clear and investigations are underway.
