The Afghan National Football Team left for Dubai on Wednesday for a five day training session, after which they will head to Kyrgyzstan for an international friendly match on March 31.
In the upcoming friendly, officials have said nine players will be from inside Afghanistan, while 16 national team members will be traveling from Europe and United States.
Hameedullah Yusufzai, Amanullah Toofan, Fardin Kohistani, Islam Amiry, Rafi Barekzai, Farzad Attaie, Mujtaba Faiz, Hashmatullah Barekzai and Amruddin Sharifi are the team members that left from Kabul on Wednesday.
Jameel Faizi, Sabaoon Qayoumi, Jalaludin Sharyatyar, Mustafa Hadeed, Arash Hatefi, Hassan Amin, Mustafa Zazai, Abbassin Ali Khail, Zameer Daudi, Mustafa Azadzoy, Kaneshka Tahir, Anosh Dastgir, Faisal Shayesta, Esmat Shinwari, Bilal Arzo, Milad Entezar and Sanjar Ahmadi are the national team members that will be coming from the United States and Europe.
According to the Afghan Football Federation, the friendly match will be helpful in evaluating and selecting the most competitive talent Afghanistan has to offer for the national team. "We will try to find the weak points and work on them so that we can have better results in the official games," Football Federation Secretary General Said Ali Reza Aghazada said. "We will also be evaluating the newly invited team members."
Rafiullah Barekzai, one of the members of the National Football Team, expressed confidence heading into the training session and friendly match. "We have good physical power, and the players who are coming from inside Afghanistan are the ones who also participated during the RAPL Nowroz Cup," he said.
The national team is also expected to have upcoming friendly matches against teams from Bahrain, Luxemburg, Japan and Tajikistan.
