At least five people were killed while seven others sustained injuries in a land dispute between two armed groups in Charikar, provincial capital of central Parwan province, said officials on Saturday.
Parwan police chief, Mohammad Zaman Mamozai confirmed the incident and said a woman was also among those wounded.
He told TOLOnews that a police officer from neighboring Kapisa province was also involved in the dispute, who Mamozai said was the main factor behind provoking the dispute.
Three people have been arrested in connection to the incident, while the police officer managed to escape.
