President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani has appointed Haroon Chakhansuri as the new presidential spokesman and Mukhtarullah Mukhtar as chief of protocol.
The Presidential Palace said in a statement on Saturday the appointments have been approved by Ghani.
According to the statement Chakhansuri has a master's degree in public administration and policy, which was gained at the Sydney University of Australia.
Chakhansuri has worked for the World Bank and has over 12 years of experience in government and non-government organizations in the fields of policy making and program management.
Mukhtar meanwhile has served on a number of commissions, as well as for the ministry of rural development, and ministry of agriculture and irrigation. He also have over 12 years of experience in government and non-government organizations, the statement said.
It also added that Mukhtar has completed his higher education in the field of management and business.
